PREPARATION COOK


Prepares needed food items by approved company recipes and quantity of prep sheets. Follows all company policies and procedures regarding safety, cleanliness, and sanitation. Ensures the company’s high standards of quality food through proper handling, storage, and rotation of all food items. Prepare a great percentage of the food for daily use in the unit.

The unit operation depends immensely on the speed and efficiency of this position.

  1. Follows to the letter the daily prep sheets made out by the Unit, Assistant or Kitchen Manager. Never over or under prep.
  2. Must be highly SANITATION and SAFETY conscious, due to the fact they come in contact with most of the food served in the unit and operate most of the kitchen equipment.
  3. Must be able to follow recipes exactly.
  4. Must be able to plan ahead for the next day’s business as far as breakout and thawing are concerned.
  5. Must know all portions concerning their job. Must never over or under portion.
  6. Must be able to tell if food is spoiled or bad and notify their supervisor as soon as possible.
  7. Help out during major meal periods
  8. Perform other duties as assigned.
