CATERING MANAGER

Sells and coordinates internal and external catering events. Provides overall planning and direction of all catered functions to achieve Thompson Hospitality business development, growth and profitability goals. Maintains effective customer/client communication.

Provides assistance in planning all catered events to both the internal and external environment.

Negotiates menus and prices.
Provides hands-on support at the day of the function.
Works closely with the university/industry/business meeting planners.
Solicits external business through sales calls.
Supports Thompson Hospitality’s efforts in sales and marketing to grow the business.
Ensures availability of function space.
Complies with the rules and policies of the university/industry/business and Thompson Hospitality.
Communicates on a regular basis with the Food Service Director, Executive Chef and Production Manager on up-coming events.
Follows up on event order sheets.
Follows up with all catering requests.
Demonstrates good communication and listening skills with clients, customers, associates and managers.
Represents Thompson Hospitality professionally and ethically at all times.
Complies with Thompson Hospitality’s business conduct policy.
Interfaces pro-actively with all support departments.
Performs other related duties as required.
Position reports to the Food Service Director. Coordinates all internal and external catering events. Sets goals to achieve Thompson Hospitality financial objectives.

Two years of experience in catering sales required. Food knowledge and menu composition, as well as wine pairings. Must be detail oriented. Must have good oral and written communication skills as well as basic PC skills.
